Dirghayu means long life
In Nepali homes, when a child bows to touch an elder’s feet, the elder places a hand on the child’s head and says “दीर्घायु भव”: may you live a long life.
It is one of the first blessings every Nepali child receives. Our name carries that blessing into the kitchen: nourishing, honest food that helps little ones grow strong and families stay healthy for many years.
The blessing appears on every pack as the Dirghayu Bhava seal, and the company that makes our food carries its name: Dirghayu Bhaba Food.

Our story
Grandmother’s lito, made for today’s parents
For generations, Nepali mothers have fed their babies lito (लिटो), a warm porridge of roasted grains, pulses and nuts, ground at home and cooked fresh. It is slow, careful food, and few busy parents have time to make it the old way.
Dirghayu was started in Tilottama, Rupandehi to bring that tradition back to every home. We buy finger millet, buckwheat and other grains directly from Nepali farmers, roast and mill them, and blend them into stage-wise recipes for each age, from the first spoon at six months to the family table.
